Spring’s Bloom
Joseph Scariano

My branches sway over the roadside.

Winter left me barren
and hard to look at,
but now in the Spring,
blossoms consume my branches

and cast a light shade over the roadside.
He came to sit under my shade
and to admire my colors,
he even picked from my blossoms
and crafted a bouquet.

Then, with his boredom satisfied,
he left my picked petals
on the roadside.

He left for home
thinking to himself
how nice a day,
with no intentions
to sit under my shade again.
